Approach

The idea behind the name

Why trim tab?

A trim tab is a small flap on the back edge of a ship's rudder. Moving it takes very little effort, but it swings the rudder, and the rudder turns the ship.

Organizations work the same way. When one leadership team changes how it makes decisions, gives feedback, or handles conflict, that change spreads into the culture and the results. My job is to help you find that tab and move it.

Buckminster Fuller used the image to describe how one person can shift a whole system.

How it works

For larger projects

Built with your team, not handed to them.

For larger projects like leadership programs and talent systems, I build the work with your team instead of handing it to them. Here's how it usually goes.

  1. 1

    Listen

I talk with people across the organization and look at the data until I understand the real problem.

  2. 2

    Co-create

I bring five or six different options, and we test them with you and the people they'll affect.

  3. 3

    Focus

Together we pick the one with the most leverage.

  4. 4

    Test

We run small pilots and get feedback quickly, so you have real evidence before you commit a big budget.

  5. 5

    Scale

We roll out what works and hand it to your team to keep going.

Getting started

  1. Step 1

    Free intro call (30 minutes)

We talk about what's stuck and whether we're a good fit.

  2. Step 2

    Discovery

I talk with the people involved, look at what's already in place, and show you where the leverage is.

  3. Step 3

    The work

An engagement built around what we learned in discovery.

What I bring

Fortune 500, tech, public sector, nonprofits

One workshop rarely changes anything.

Change sticks when someone finds the right lever and keeps working it: building habits, adjusting the systems around people, and watching the results.

  • Systems thinking

I see how the pieces connect.

  • Stakeholder alignment

Leaders know where the work is headed and why.

  • Behavioral science

The work is built on how people actually change.

  • Design thinking

We prototype, test, and refine with the people who'll use it.

  • Global experience

I've worked with leaders across regions and cultures.

  • Range

Fortune 500 companies, high-growth tech, the public sector, and nonprofits.
